Baltic Euroregional Network-East creates cross-border dialogue

Future perspectives, sharing experiences and open dialogue within the field of cross-border cooperation dominated the closing conference of the Baltic Euroregional Network-East (BEN-East) project. The international conference “Future models of cross-border cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region” took place on 11-12 December in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia.

International seminar "Role of educational and research organizations in cross-border cooperation" took place in Minsk - Belovezhskaya Puscha on 27-30 May.
The seminar was organized by Nordic Council of Ministers Information Office in Saint-Petersburg, local ecological foundation "Euroregion "Belovezhskaya Puscha" and Center for international research of Belorussian State University (BSU).

IIIrd Annual International Conference "Cross-border cooperation: The Russian Federation, the European Union and Norway" took place in Kaliningrad on October 11-12, 2007

Existent relations between Russia and EU with emphasis on CBC development were highlights of the IIIrd International Conference "Cross-border cooperation: the Russian Federation, the European Union and Norway" held on 11th -12th of October 2007, in The World Ocean Museum in Kaliningrad. Among the speakers were both local and state leaders from Russian Federation, representatives of European Comission and specialists of different State Departments from Russia, Northern Europe and Baltic region. The conference was organized by the office of the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the North-West Federal District, the Ministry of Regional Development of Russian Federation, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Administration of Kaliningrad Region, the North-West Development and Investment Promotion Agency and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The final conference of BEN ("Baltic Euroregional Network") project took place on 24-26 October 2007 in Jelgava, Latvia

BEN project, aiming at development of cross-border cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region, started in October 2005. 35 partners from Belarus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden took part in the project.

III annual international conference "Cross-Border Cooperation between the Russian Federation, the European Union and Norway"
(11-12 October 2007, World Ocean Museum, Kaliningrad, Russia)

The third annual international conference "Cross-Border Cooperation between the Russian Federation, the European Union and Norway" will be organized on October 11-12, 2007. It will be held in Kaliningrad region - a unique subject of the Russian North-West federal district in terms of cross-border cooperation, where external relations with neighbour countries and internal socio-economic development are closely connected. To a large extent it determines success in cross-border cooperation. Thus, within the conference special attention will be paid to the experience of Kaliningrad region in cross-border cooperation.

BEN and BEN-EAST projects summer school "Cross-border cooperation to support environment and sustainable development in the Baltic Sea Region", Tartu, Estonia, 20-25 August 2007

The summer school on CBC held in Tartu, Estonia, will become the second joint event in the frames of BEN and BEN-EAST projects after the seminar "Issues of common labour market in CBC region" that took place in Fredrikstad, Norway, on 15-17 May, 2007. The school will be organized by the Peipsi Center for Trans-border cooperation for the specialists of the Baltic Sea Region.
