Conference on Cross-border cooperation in Tartu, Estonia
Representatives of BEN-East project network took part in the conference "Regional development challenges of EU border regions in the context of the interaction between the EU and countries of its immediate "neighbourhood" held on 16 - 17 June 2008 in Tartu, Estonia.
The conference was organised by the University of Tartu Institute of Government Studies and Eurocollege (Tartu), Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation and Estonian Foreign Policy Institute (Tallinn), as well as International Center for Black Sea Studies (Athens, Greece) and Institute of Advanced Studies (Vienna, Austria).
The conference gathered representatives of educational organizations and CBC structures who discussed regional development challenges and opportunities of the EU's easternmost regions in the context of cooperation with Russia and other bordering CIS countries - Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine. The conference was followed by a Summer School on 18 - 20 June that took place in Tartu - V?rska (Estonia) - Pechory (Russia).
